Distress Ink Refill Tip 3 - Mist-it!

Hi everybody. Its a beautiful day out, but my oldest son is home with the crud, so hopefully you are all enjoying the wonderful weather for me.

Today's distress ink refill tip apears below. It is a great tip and one I've been using a lot lately. If you attend our November 30th workshop, you'll get a chance to try this for yourself. We'll also have some of the empty bottles available for purchase. Hope you can make it, and hope you enjoy this tip.

Have a great day!

By the way, I figured out the link thing. Click on the title to look at the distress ink refills we have available in the store. You will have to scroll down to find them. We currently have just three, but will be adding more soon. We also have the coordinating pads on order - just in case you were wondering.

Distress Ink Refill Tip 3 – Mist-it!

Most of us have the small craft misting bottles that can be purchased in the paint section of the local hobby store. If you don’t have one, it really is a must have tool (and its cheap).

The most common use for the mister is to spray it on a freshly inked page to cause the ink to bleed slightly. You can also mist an inked stamp prior to stamping with it to get a beautiful water color effect.

Now here is another way to use your mister and your distress ink refills. Simply fill the bottle with water and then mix a few drops of ink into the water to create a color stained mist. This is a great way to subdue bright colors or just create that beautiful weathered look that scrappers love. Be sure to mist your pages over newspaper or even outside so that you aren’t getting the colorful water on your carpet or furniture.

I love doing this and have a bottle specifically designated for this use. Try it out and let me know how it works for you!

I think I have seen Jodi do this before. I would love to try it sometime.
